First overnight stop was Tewkesbury, where we had booked the Travelodge as it was only one night.
On the way up the M5 we called into Slimbridge, a lovely village on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, for lunch in a pub we knew well from camping there many times.
After lunch we headed into Tewksbury for a walk around the town and the river Severn, before checking into our room for the night.
I went to Tewkesbury as part of a 5-day school geography field course when I was 14 but sadly I don't remember much about it other than lots of black-and-white buildings - it's probably changed a lot since then though.
