North Wales - September 2018 - Llanberis

From Caernarfon we drove into the Snowdonia National Park and onto Llanberis, a lovely village at the foot of Snowdon with a beautiful lake, Llyn Padarn.  We spent a few hours here walking around the lake to the little railway and the Snowdon Mountain Railway and back into the village.

When we left Llanberis we saw the rescue helicopter hovering above Mount Snowdon and just as I got back into the car they clearly winched a casualty into the helicopter.

  1. Llanberis is a lovely little place - if you ever go there again I can recommend Pete's Eats in the village centre for something to eat. Not posh but good grub and they have a library upstairs. I like your heron although it doesn't look too happy :)

  2. We loved Llanberis. The walk along the lakeside, the little train, the summit of Snowdon and the little town. Again we just called in for a wander so only scratched the surface this time. Thanks for the recommendation, we'll remember it for next time. We were far too full of breakfast to eat during the day but next time we'll probably be self catering so can enjoy a few more places to eat out and about. The heron was sat on someone's garden fence and you're right he really didn't look very happy!
