After leaving Charlestown we headed to the lovely town of Lostwithiel (full of quirky antique shops) where we were staying for the night in an hotel that we had used a few times before. After check in we had a walk around and went to the station to research the best place to stand and watch the steam train go through the next morning. Unfortunately it wasn't due to stop at the station so we knew it would be a very short, but sweet, experience! We had a pint in a local pub after that and then we spent the evening in the hotel.
After a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning we headed to the station to secure our spot ready for the Flying Scotsman. The weather was horrible, raining and quite cold compared to the previous day, but it didn't deter us!
Spot secured and a half hour to wait in the rain but it was so worth it, after all it had never happened before!
5 seconds later it was all over but I was very happy with the photos I managed to get!!!!
Wet, but happy, we returned to the hotel to check out. We spent the rest of the day doing a bit of shopping on the way home.
